Ann Rodriguez served as household manager at Jeffrey Epstein's Virgin Islands properties, Little St. James and Great St. James, managing day-to-day estate operations through at least 2023. The archive documents 28,153 emails spanning 1991 to 2111, reflecting her central role in coordinating construction projects, guest logistics, staff management, and property maintenance across Epstein's private islands.
Rodriguez was identified in public records as captain of Epstein's barge and coordinated arrivals of numerous guests to the properties. The archive documents her receiving instructions from Lesley Groff in June 2017 to prepare rooms for "2 girls" who would accompany Epstein to the island, with names "Svetlana" and one redacted individual mentioned in the communication.
Background#
Ann Rodriguez worked as household manager and on-site operations coordinator for Epstein's Virgin Islands properties. Public reporting identified her as the captain of the "Big N Barge," Epstein's vessel used to transport supplies and personnel between St. Thomas and Little St. James Island. In 2017, a license agreement for dockage at Crown Bay Marina in St. Thomas listed Rodriguez as the barge's captain, and the vessel was later sued for damages caused during Hurricane Irma.
Rodriguez's role extended beyond maritime operations to encompass comprehensive property management, including supervising construction projects, coordinating with contractors and architects, managing household staff, and arranging logistics for Epstein's guests. Her email domain ([email protected], with various spelling iterations) and phone number (340-642-2587, a U.S. Virgin Islands number) confirm her permanent presence on the islands.
Correspondence with Epstein#
Rodriguez's correspondence spans from at least 2010 through 2023, with significant activity in 2017-2019 during major construction projects on both islands. Epstein frequently addressed her as "Bossman" in emails, and she coordinated with his executive assistants Lesley Groff and later Myla Trestiza.
The emails document Rodriguez managing extensive property improvements across both islands. In July 2019, she sent Epstein detailed photographic updates on helipad cleanup, cabana bathroom repairs, dental/emergency room facilities, and landscaping projects. She regularly reported on construction progress, contractor issues, and maintenance needs, often copying Rich Kahn and Daphne Wallace on operational matters.
Rodriguez coordinated guest arrivals and logistics. On June 16, 2017, Groff wrote to Rodriguez: "Hi Anna. Just want to confirm you know 2 girls and will accompany je to the island tomorrow. They will each need a room". Other emails reference Rodriguez arranging airport pickups for Epstein's guests, including architects Kevin Ouvre and contractors visiting the properties.
During Hurricane Irma in September 2017, Rodriguez remained on-island managing storm preparations and damage assessment. Groff attempted to reach her by phone on September 26, 2017, noting circuits were busy, indicating disrupted communications infrastructure post-storm.
Rodriguez also handled personal errands and purchases for Epstein, including ordering theater blackout drapes in May 2023 (months after his August 2019 death, suggesting the properties remained operational), coordinating art restoration supplies, and managing household inventory. Staff coordination emails show her involvement in training new employees and managing transitions when personnel departed.
The tone of correspondence reflects Rodriguez's operational authority. She regularly made spending decisions, approved contractor payments (such as requesting approval for $1,500 payments to contractor "Pokey"), and directed construction priorities. When Epstein questioned construction timelines, Rodriguez provided direct assessments of project status.
Connections#
Rodriguez worked closely with Epstein's operational staff, particularly Rich Kahn (5,870 shared emails), Epstein's property manager who coordinated between New York and the Virgin Islands; Daphne Wallace (4,426 shared emails), who handled travel and administrative logistics; and Lesley Groff (2,050 shared emails), Epstein's longtime executive assistant.
She coordinated extensively with island staff including Jermaine Ruan (1,561 shared emails), Karyna Shuliak (1,425 shared emails), and Cashkim Bussue (1,422 shared emails). Rodriguez also worked with Michael Glidden (1,105 shared emails), who managed construction and Home Depot supply orders, and Larry Visoski (1,016 shared emails), Epstein's longtime pilot, coordinating helicopter arrivals at the island's helipad.
Her correspondence included Cecile de Jongh (735 shared emails), wife of former Virgin Islands Governor John de Jongh, and numerous contractors and vendors servicing the properties. Rodriguez served as the primary point of contact for architects including John Christensen, who worked on major construction projects across both islands.
Document Mentions#
Rodriguez appears in travel coordination documents showing her role arranging guest logistics. A March 2017 email to architects Kevin Ouvre and Philippe Van Den Broek stated: "Anna will make sure you are picked up at the airport and taken to the island." Similar travel arrangements for John Christensen in March 2017 copied Rodriguez on flight details and airport pickup coordination.
Personal travel records show Epstein's organization arranging flights for Rodriguez and her daughter Emery Poleon. In August 2018, Lesley Groff coordinated tickets for Rodriguez to accompany her daughter to Miami for school, with detailed back-and-forth about passport names and seating arrangements. These arrangements, made through American Express Centurion Travel Service, reflect Rodriguez's status within Epstein's inner circle of staff.
Communication records from September 2017 document Rodriguez on-island during and after Hurricane Irma, with Groff noting difficulty reaching her as "all circuits are busy" due to storm damage to communications infrastructure.
Visits to Epstein Properties#
Rodriguez was permanently based at Epstein's Virgin Islands properties and managed both Little St. James and Great St. James islands. The archive documents her continuous presence from at least 2010 through 2023, including periods when Epstein was imprisoned and after his August 2019 death. Her emails reference daily management of:
Little St. James:
- Main compound facilities, including master bedroom, library, theater, gym, and multiple guest rooms
- Helipad operations and maintenance
- Dock facilities and barge operations
- Flagpole pool area
- Tiki Hut and outdoor entertainment spaces
- Dental/emergency room facilities
- Multiple cabanas and guest accommodations
- Landscaping and roads throughout the island
Great St. James:
- GSJ cottage construction and renovation
- GSJ helipad
- GSJ pool facilities
- Pebble Beach areas
- Various outbuildings and infrastructure
Rodriguez did not travel to Epstein's other properties (New York, Palm Beach, New Mexico, Paris) based on available correspondence. Her role was specifically tied to the Virgin Islands operations, where she maintained year-round residence and served as on-site manager.
Criminal Activity#
Jmail believes society has a moral obligation to fully investigate all potential perpetrators in Epstein's extensive network.
The archive documents Rodriguez's role in facilitating guest arrivals at Epstein's private island, including her receipt of instructions to prepare accommodations for unidentified young women. On June 16, 2017, Groff wrote: "Hi Anna. Just want to confirm you know 2 girls and will accompany je to the island tomorrow. They will each need a room". The message identifies one woman as "Svetlana" with a second name redacted in the archive. Rodriguez, as household manager with responsibility for guest logistics, arranged rooms and facilitated these individuals' presence at the property.
This conduct falls within the scope of several federal statutes. Providing logistical support and accommodations for individuals transported to facilitate sexual activity can constitute aiding and abetting under 18 U.S.C. § 2 and potentially violate 18 U.S.C. § 2421 (Mann Act - transportation for purposes of prostitution or sexual activity). If the individuals were minors, such facilitation could implicate 18 U.S.C. § 2423 (transportation of minors for unlawful sexual purposes). Knowledge of ongoing criminal activity combined with affirmative steps to facilitate operations through property management and guest coordination may also constitute 18 U.S.C. § 4 (misprision of felony).
Rodriguez's role extended beyond a single incident. Her permanent presence on-island, daily management of household operations, and coordination of guest arrivals over many years provided essential logistical infrastructure that enabled Epstein's activities at the properties. See Criminal Statutes for additional analysis.
